Ethanol Volume has picked up the Rookie Rebel tonight at The Meadows, with a sizzling 34.07 second performance for Team Dailly.
The son of international sire Droopy Sydney x My Ethanol’s last victory came at Bendigo in October last year over the 660-metre distance.
The Bendigo win was an iconic battle between Ethanol Volume and Canya All Class, who finished fourth in the Australian Cup tonight.
Ethanol Volume wins the Rookie Rebel in a time of 34.07seconds over the 600m from box two.
“We are really happy with the win,” Rickii-Lee Church said post-race.
Ethanol Volume is now a winner of 18 races from 64 starts, banking more than $280,000 in prize money for connections.
“When he leads and he is on the arm, he is a completely different dog,” Sky Presenter Nathan Rooney said.
“We know he has matched motors with Canya All Class in the past. He ran home in 12.32, you are somewhat happy with that if you were running home over 500 let alone 600.”
Ethanol Volume has been sparingly raced this year, having had just the four starts.
Ethanol Volume’s litter sister is Ethanol Water was one of the fancies in the Group 1 Fanta Bale Stayers, finished fifth.
