Miss Envy ruled out of Australian Cup Carnival

Star sprinter Miss Envy has been ruled out of contention for the Temlee and as a result the Australian Cup series.

Co-trainer Steve Shinners said the series has unfortunately arrived too quickly.

“Her toe issue is on-going and it won’t be right by Monday to trial at The Meadows,” said Shinners.

“She may have been alright for Week 2, but with the need to be going around in Week 1 to advance it’s just all too soon. When taking on the best you can’t afford to not be 110%.”

Despite the unfortunate news it hopefully won’t be too long until we see her back racing.

“Her next target might be the Perth Cup followed by the Sandgroper – we’ve already had interest from slot holders.”

Nominations for the opening night of the Australian Cup Carnival on Saturday February 8 close 10am tomorrow (Friday) – Temlee, Zoom Top and Australian Cup heats. All Temlee hopefuls must nominate for Australian Cup heats to be considered. Click here for conditions

Fields for the two Group 1s will be announced on Monday with the box draw to take place in the afternoon – streamed live on the Watchdog App and The Meadows’ Facebook page.
