Data comparison of Cranbourne Cup finalists

Tonight’s Sportsbet Cranbourne Cup final will be one of the better contests we’ll see this year – it’s a perfect preview of what to expect through the upcoming Dream Chasers Festival.

The heats provided us with first class entertainment and as expected elite performances.

Below is a breakdown of those performances, and most importantly how they compare to each other.

It’s a great indication but there’s often more to it. For example, Flying Zulu was held up for plenty of his race, which is reflected in his slower metrics early on – but we know when clear he’s capable of absolutely lighting up the numbers.

Kingsley Bale looks like he’ll lead from the draw, but based on run home times probably needs at least a four length break (0.06 of a second is generally considered a length) on the rest of the field, which is unlikely, at least in my opinion.

The Sportsbet Cranbourne Cup is Race 8 on tonight’s card at Sandown Park and will jump at 9.27pm.
