Three’s a Charm for Team Greenough

It was a big night for Brad Greenough at Bendigo tonight, securing three runners in the Sportsbet Bendigo Cup.

Zeus Thunderbolt was Greenough’s first qualifier, stopping the clock at 23.64 in win 8 from 13 starts.

“This dog is going to get better with age because he is only a pup,” Nathan Rooney told Sky Racing audiences.

Healesville Cup winner, Mile A Minute claimed Sportsbet Bendigo Cup heat 6, with a brave performance. He pushed through traffic and worked the outside of the track to secure another country cup rug.

Unleash In Miami rounded out Greenough’s runners for the night with an all the way win from box 1.

“This is one of the better Country Cups you will see,” Jason Adams said on Sky Racing.

At first glance of the box draw, Rooney believes that Aston Fantastic is the winner from the draw after coming up with box 5 with Hotel Whisky One likely to run cover.

Aston Fantastic was the fastest qualifier, stopping the clock in a slick 23.52, giving David Geall his second contender in this year’s Sportsbet Bendigo Cup.

Heat 1: Hotel Whiskey One (8) wins by 5 lengths in 23.54.

Heat 2: Zeus Thunderbolt (3) defeats Mock Fish (7) in 23.64.

Heat 3: Matt Lock (7) runs over the top of Description (1) in a time of 23.73.

Heat 4: Mile A Minute (6) defeats Shima Current (1) in 23.75.

Heat 5: Boracay Storm (5) holds off Pass The Buck (1) in 23.69.

Heat 6: Unleash In Miami (1) just holds off Tanner Bale (7) in a time of 23.95.

Heat 7: Aston Fantastic (1) leads all the way defeating Sheezel (6) in a time of 23.52.
