Farrugia’s Grey Areas set ahead of Sandown Park

Corey Smith is back on the pine as I returned on RSN’s Grey Areas with George Farrugia yesterday.

We spoke to Jamie Ennis about Ella’s Babe who lines up in Race 9 and got the latest on impressive Amron Bobby after a blinding debut. We also spoke to Jihad Talgi for the latest on Schillaci as he targets the Adelaide Cup.

Hear RSN’s Grey Areas every Wednesday and Friday from midday – for a laugh, opinions, latest news and tips

George’s set at Sandown Park:

Race 2, Paw Harry (1)
“I’m tipping against Elliott (8) because of the draw. He (Paw Harry) comes from an amazing litter and his last two wins have been really good. I think he’s got enough speed to hold a forward position and these Paw greyhounds are flying at the moment.”

Race 3, Warm Cockles (7)
“Really keen. This is a drop in class for him. Defeated Lakeview Emily three starts ago. I think he’s got enough speed even from the wide draw. I think he can get to a nice position and be hard to beat.”

Race 11, Peacock (1)
“His form since his fall has been pretty good and he hasn’t found the hardest race in the world.”

Also of note…

Race 6
Who doesn’t love a Free-For-All on a city card. Connections of In The Hub (1) are disappointed on missing out on the SA Match Racing Series and will be itching to prove a point tonight. He’s got a host of dangers including the powerful Fred Rose (4) who was great at The Meadows last Saturday.

Race 8
Canya All Class (4) backs up after a sensational win in heavy rain last Thursday. His challengers don’t look as strong as they did last week against Smooth Plane and should give us another reason to think of him as a future top class stayer.

Race 9
Ella’s Babe (7) leads a pretty strong staying race. It’s possibly the last opportunity for her to compete in a graded race before being forced to target the staying features not only across Victoria but across the country. Meets 2023/24 Victorian Stayer of the Year in Drill Sergeant (1).
