Grey Areas is the name and Farrugia is on fire

RSN’s new staple greyhound show now has a name – Grey Areas. You can hear it every Wednesday and Friday from midday on RSN927.

Today George Farrugia and myself had a laugh, chatted about pressing news and spoke to trainers Jess Hopkins and Brad Greenough. The latest information on Canya All Class, Canya Untamed, Zeus Thunderbolt, Big Energy and Mile A Minute. We also chimed in to the discussion on wide draws at Sandown Park.

As for tips, George hit six of seven last week and put three more on the table ahead of Thursday night at Sandown Park.

George’s set at Sandown Park:

Race 2, Wren Bale (1)
“I thought the run two starts ago was impressive behind Ethanol Volume. Showed good speed, 9.04 early (600m first split) which shows she called hold a forward position here.”

Race 6, Whodat Shanlyn (2)
“She wasn’t beaten far last start and has taken on some good greyhounds recently. I think if she can beat the red (Osanna Bale) out she’ll be hard to beat.”

Race 12, Gaping Margin (1)
“I know she uses a bit of the track but I’m relying on her holding a forward position, even if she shifts out a little bit she’ll be hard to run down.”

Also of note…

Race 7
Imagine if Smooth Plane (4) leads and Canya All Class (6) settles a few off him – it’d be absolutely game on. Can’t wait to see it unfold, hopefully they both get their opportunity to cut loose.

Race 8
Tim Zoo (6) is back to throw down – his first start on a metropolitan Victorian track since he won the Australian Cup back in February. 2022 Melbourne Cup winner Yachi Bale (7) is back in the big smoke after a break and two runs at Geelong in the Hugh Emmerson series – no doubt he’ll be winding up late.
