In-form Farrugia tackles The Meadows tonight

George Farrugia has honed into tonight’s meeting at The Meadows and has identified a few standouts – fresh of all of his three tips winning at Sandown Park on Thursday night.

George and I joined John Henry on RSN yesterday, the second edition of new and evolving show that will be a staple of the RSN line up on Wednesdays and Fridays from 12pm – bringing you the latest news, opinions and tips focusing on Victoria’s city meetings.

Tonight’s set at The Meadows:

Race 6, Shrewd Sticker (8)
His last win was in May, but that’s not too concerning for me. This is his first step up to 600m and despite the draw my theory is that he’ll get out and go and be hard to beat from there.

Race 9, Shake And Bake (2)
She’s a big chance. She ran 6th behind Drill Sergeant (in the Topcat last week) and she’s not in that class. I like where she’s drawn, Liveable should lead and if Shake And Bake can sit behind her she’ll be hard to beat.

Race 11, Paw Oswald (7)
He’s just starting his career and hasn’t missed a place from eight starts and he’s learning as he goes along. Osprey Warrior has a bit of speed on his inside but I think he’ll outpace him.

Also of note…

Race 5
A good contest this. Launching Pad winner Cruising Debbie (6) has been best supported since markets opened. Zoha Bale (5) continues on his comeback trail – his ran 6th, 8th and 7th since resuming but last week set the best last 100m of the meeting, better than Palawa King, so maybe a statement run is building. Alpha Zulu (7) is also a big name in the race.

Race 8, Explicit (8)
The best sprinter in Australia at the moment. Drawn to showcase his lethal acceleration and should be putting on another clinic.
