#1 MEPUNGA SMOKEY (Box 2)
Breeding: October ’21 Barcia Bale x Mepunga Isla
Trainer: Jeff Britton (Anakie)
Record: 9 starts 3-2-2
Dale says: Pink Diamond Maiden Sprinter winner who I believe can turn into an elite city class sprinter.
In his first few starts, he was falling out of the boxes and had to work hard to make up the ground in his races.
He appears to be beginning a lot better now and with these newfound improved box manners, Mepunga Smokey appears set for a big career.
Best traits: Tenacious chaser, consistent sectionals
Ideal draw: Box 1
Ideal distance: 500 metres

#2 GOT ATTITUDE (Box 5)
Breeding: April ’21 Bernardo x Sunset Senorita
Trainer: Jason Thompson (Pearcedale)
Record: 11 starts 6-3-0
Dale says: The Thompson camp have another potential cups winner here with Got Attitude.
His speed soon after box rise shown in his last start win at Bendigo was breathtaking.
He has already shown in his short career that he can run smart times and with more maturity and racing, I have no doubt that Got Attitude can become one of the best provincial sprinters in the sport.
Best traits: Elite speed soon after box rise
Ideal draw: Box 8
Ideal distance: 450 metres

#3 ROYAL GYPSY (Box 4)
Breeding: May ‘21 Aussie Infrared x Dyna Gypsy
Trainer: Tom Dailly (Anakie)
Record: 23 starts 3-4-6
Dale says: Royal Gypsy has been placed just once in her last eight starts.
However, she has had no luck in a number of those runs and could be a dog to win at nice odds very soon.
Royal Gypsy would be very hard to beat in a Grade 5 over 450 metres or even over the 500-metre distance range in a provincial stakes meeting in town.
Best traits: Early speed
Ideal draw: Box 1
Ideal distance: 450 metres
