Daily Mail: ‘Kepal’ looking great at Healesville

After breaking the Healesville 300m track record last start in his first race down the straight, Kepal (won 12 from 22) steps up to the 350m trip in a Mixed 4/5 event this afternoon.

Slingshot Reaper is looking to win his fifth-straight race in a 300m Special Event for Veterans, while Senor Senor, Coolant and Aston Latham clash in a competitive 300m Free For All.

Zipping Scorcher (won three straight and nine from 16) and Action Girl (won 9 from 11) are expected to prevail in their respective Grade 5 heats over 410m at Horsham, while the classy Kaheem Bale headlines a Mixed 4/5 485m race.

The Watchdog says ?: Healesville 300m track record holder KEPAL (1) was enormous last time, and he should give the 350m track record a nudge. GEL BLASTER (5) will be on the speed throughout and can fill the quinella spot.

‘Must Watch Race’ Preview ?:

He is going to be very skinny odds, but KEPAL (1) is a must watch based on his breathtaking track record run here on February 20 over 300m. He makes the step up to 350m today, but that shouldn’t be an issue as he has recorded scorching wins over longer distances already. He should have no trouble holding the lead today and I’m expecting him to obliterate the 19-second barrier. GEL BLASTER (5) and WHITE SURPRISE (7) are both on-speed types and can duke it out for second spot, while BRAEMAR WALLACE (3) and SHOWTIME BOOMER (4) are the run-on types for third spot.
