How to spend $20 on the SEN Track Traralgon Cup Final

TAB currently has Typhoon Sammy (Box 7) the $2.40 favourite for the $47,000 to-the-winner Group 2 SEN Track Traralgon Cup final this Wednesday night.

And The Watchdog says, “He deserves to be, on the back of last week’s heat win”.

“(He went) 3.62sec through the first marker and came home in 21.53sec, you couldn’t ask for anything better. And it was his first look at the track.

“I think if he does everything right at box rise, he’ll get across and they’re going to have to run some serious time to reel him in.

“Look, the $2.25 (original price) is probably a bit short … but I really can’t tip against him.”

The form expert has a question mark on Lala Kiwi (Box 1), which is on the second line of betting at $4.20.

“(She) exited the ‘red’ last week – 21.61sec but 3.75sec through the first marker, she’s going to have to trim that up a little bit.

“She could get shuffled back early. But she’s 32kg, she’s a big girl and should be able to push through and hold her own.

“She bounced back last week and showed she’s got that confidence, so must be respected.”

“It’s really Typhoon Sammy’s race. If he does everything right at box rise, he’ll be off and gone.”

The form analyst says $18 chance Hill Top Jonah (Box 2) is the “value runner in the race”.

“(He was) brilliant last week – 21.77sec. I know he’s still got to work on his strength, but he’s going to be up in the top two early.

“The dog’s flying, he can go probably 21.65sec and that could be enough to win this race. He’s worth a look.”

The Watchdog’s $20 spend

$10 Trifecta on 7 / 1,2,5,8 / 1,2,5,6,8 (62.5% return)
$5 Trifecta on 7 / 1,2 / 1,2,4,5,6,8 (50% return)
$5 on Hill Top Jonah to win at $18

Twenty

The Watchdog adds that Ferdinand Boy (Box 5) at $7 is a “very attractive price about a greyhound that’s won multiple cups”.

“He’s one of the best in the business and showed that he’s almost back to his best last week in 21.65sec. I think he can go better when he’s at his peak.

“He’s still got that really good muster, but his box manners are going to have to improve a little bit.”

However, The Watchdog says, “it’s really Typhoon Sammy’s race”.

“If he does everything right at box rise, he’ll be off and gone.”
