David Geall will be looking to continue his phenomenal run of success on provincial tracks when promising sprinter King Of Glory heads to Horsham on Tuesday afternoon for The Watchdog’s Must Watch race of the day.
King Of Glory (7 from 18) has drawn box eight in a ‘hot’ Grade 5 final, where he’ll face off against a talented trio in Kiss Your Lips (13 from 43), Pirates Patch (26 wins – 5 from 9 Box 2) and the in-form Handsome Jack (16 from 50 – 4 of past 6 – 5 from 11 Box 7).
Another standout match-up at Horsham will pit Crackerjack Zave (11 from 36 – 4 from 9 Trk/Dst) against the talented track specialist Braemar Prince (12 from 31 – 4 from 5 Trk/Dst).
The star attraction at Warragul is classy speedster Sweet Petit (11 from 29 – 4 of past 5), with Daryl Holmes’ Pink Diamond Princess series winner set to continue her sparkling run of recent form.
Other Warragul standouts include Sneaky Mojo (15 from 40 – 7 of past 10 – 6 from 14 Trk/Dst) and Dr. Madison (12 from 38 – 2 of past 3), while a couple of youngster talents well worth watching are Nova’s Way (5 from 7 – 2 from 2 Box 8) and Queen Kathleen (4 of 11 – past 3).
Today’s action starts at Healesville, with the meeting headlined by a clash between course stars Anita Sonic Love (7 from 16 – 4 from 4 Trk/Dst) and Soda Diamond (11 from 20 – 5 from 7 Trk/Dst – 4 from 7 Box 4).

The Watchdog says ?: Fantastic line-up for a grade 5 final and it should be keenly contested throughout. KISS YOUR LIPS (1) was probably a tad disappointing when beaten in her heat, however from the good draw today, she can go one better. She is armed with blistering early speed and she has some scorching provincial wins to her credit, so if she can hold the top through the bend, there should be some bunching behind and that will allow her to zip away in the middle stages. KING OF GLORY (8) was another who was beaten in his heat; however, he exited the red draw on that occasion, and he never really looked comfortable until he got out wide and into some open space. With keen railer HANDSOME JACK (7) drawn directly on his inside, the ‘King’ should get plenty of room to balance up and he has unrivalled speed from the 70m to 200m mark, so with an ounce of luck through the bend, he should hit the scoreboard. PIRATES PATCH (2) is a prolific winner and she is racing with extreme confidence, however the concern today is the pace she has drawn on either side. Her box manners can let her down at times and with speed on either side, she may get crowded initially. TYPHOON BOLT (3) and HANDSOME JACK (7) round out the leading chances, ‘Jack’ is desperate to get across early, however he has won five of 11 from this draw and he is normally very reliable at box rise, whilst the ‘Typhoon’ has been impressive since resuming and he is now at peak fitness.
