Middle distance sensation Collinda Patty will be the main attraction at Wednesday afternoon’s meeting at The Meadows, where she looks set to continue her sensational recent form, despite dropping back to the sprint trip.
Trained by Jason Thompson, Collinda Patty (5 from 13) has created a huge impression in winning her last two starts, both over middle distanced, breaking former superstar Dyna Double One’s long-standing Sandown Park 595m record, before a last start victory in the G3 Speed Star (600m) match race series at The Meadows.
While Collinda Patty is reverting to 525m today, form expert The Watchdog isn’t expecting that to be a concern, tagging her duel with the stopwatch as the Must Watch ‘race’ of the day.
Lightly-raced Starlight Dusty (3 from 5) is also showing middle distance potential and is eyeing off a hat-trick after impressive victories at his last two starts over 595m at Sandown.
Eat My Dust (6 from 14) is another promising type capable of showing up at The Meadows.
Fernando Cazz (11 from 35), winner of the G1 Rookie Rebel and runner-up in the G1 Association Cup earlier in the year, will take centre-stage at Cranbourne as she continues along the comeback trail.
The toughest for Fernando Cazz to beat shapes as Bounce Back (12 wins).
At Ballarat, Dream Wizard (22 from 60 – 4 from 7 Box 6) gets a golden opportunity to return to the winners list after finishing a close second to superstar Tiggerlong Tonk in a G2 Healesville Cup heat at his last start.
Other key contenders at Ballarat include Soda Diamond (11 from 19 – 4 from 6 Box 4), which is striving to enhance his imposing strike rate in the ‘lucky last’, My Faith (18 from 63) and Aston Mireya (13 from 47 – 5 wins Trk/Dst).
