Five-time Group finalist Aston Gwen is the headline act at The Meadows on Wednesday afternoon, while at Ballarat’s meeting Interrogate will put the ‘hard questions’ to prolific speedster Zipping Zarbo.
Versatile G2 Laurels heroine Aston Gwen (18 from 63 – 5 from 13 Trk/Dst) has been mixing distances at The Meadows with great effect and after finding star speedster Fernando Bluey too slippery last week today’s assignment looks ideal.
Talented youngster Curator (2 from 5) will make his first appearance at The Meadows, having sped around Sandown Park in 29.30sec two starts back.
At Ballarat, another young gun, the superbly-bred Revolution (2 from 2 Trk/Dst) will be ‘must watch’ viewing as he strives to continue the unbeaten start to his career, having clocked a sizzling BON 25.01sec last week.
The Ballarat card will also feature an enthralling match-up between Interrogate (11 from 31 – 3 from 5 Box 2) and G2 Warragul Cup finalist Zipping Zarbo (26 from 57 – 3 from 5 Box 8).
Another great clash will pit Aston Mireya (12 from 40 – 4 from 14 Trk/Dst) up against Slingshot Titan (28 from 54 – 3 of past 4).
Meanwhile at Cranbourne, two experienced distance performers will lock horns over 699m with I’m Easy Boys (21 wins), a G3 Fireball finalist at The Meadows last weekend, facing G1 WA Galaxy finalist Jayville Slick (14 wins).
Other notable Cranbourne contenders include the well-bred Aston Geneve, a daughter of former star Secret Spell, an eye-catching last start debut winner at the track, and track specialist Stebonheath Lad (9 from 19 – 6 from 9 Trk/Dst).
