Ferdinand set to fly

The appearance of dual country cups winner Ferdinand Boy is set to light up Monday night racing.

The Watchdog describes David Geall’s superstar as the best provincial sprinter in Australia, but he will have to content with a drop in distance and some more-than-capable opposition.

But the form expert warns that with clear running Oriental Amber’s 385m track record (21.348sec) could be under threat.

Check out The Watchdog’s comprehensive analysis of tonight’s Must Watch Race, along with his $10 daily spend below.

MUST WATCH RACE – www.victoolshop.com Mixed 4/5

FERDINAND BOY ? THE CLOCK

? Shepparton ? Race 10 ? 385m 10:10pm

 Form ? https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/625462441/race/10

The Watchdog says ? : FERDINAND BOY (6) is the country’s premier provincial sprinter with two country cup wins under his belt already, and he looks poised to notch up career win number 20. He had his colours lowered in the Cup Night Match Race on Geelong Cup night, but that race format did not really suit him. He meets a few good ones tonight, but with an even getaway he should be able to light them up soon after and give the track record a nudge. SPECIAL TALENT (2) is just that, and he is likely to be the second elect in the market. He is having his first run since January and should be wound up for this assignment, whilst SMART AS JACK (4) has a tremendous winning strike rate (42%) and he can really burn early in his races. JODIE’S BOY (8) has always done his best racing here and he returned to racing with a top win here last week. This event is clearly a lot harder than he’s used to, but he could possibly cause an upset. Fingers cross ‘Ferdinand’ can clear them early and shake up the clock.

The Watchdog says ? : SIMPLY SLICK (1) was an impressive maiden winner here and with a clear run has the potential to go around 25.40sec, which would see him win easily. BLACK PHOENIX (1) is racing well, I expect her to lead, and from there I cannot see her missing a top two finish. ULTIMATE AVENGER (1) has had little luck of late and from the good draw he should just jump and run. He can carve out time and looks a moral. Multi price: $3.34

? $2 Win – BLUE RASPBERRY
? Ballarat ? Race 10 ? Box 5 ?390m ⏱ 5:55pm
TAB fixed odds: $4.40 Win
Form
?  https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/565711060/race/10

The Watchdog says ? : Very hard greyhound to follow but she has loads of ability and appears suited by the smaller line-up today. She will miss the kick, but she does possess a wonderful turn of foot and with an ounce of luck she can put herself into contention.

? $2 Win – KENITA
? Ballarat ? Race 12 ? Box 8 ?390m ⏱ 6.31pm
TAB fixed odds: $3.40 Win
Form ?
https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/565711060/race/12

The Watchdog says ? : Does not win out of turn but she does find herself in a very winnable race. She likes to stay wide in her races and can lead or come from off the pace. There are a couple of runners in this event who are suspect over the trip, so hopefully she can run over the top of them late in race.

? $3 Place – JODIE’S BOY
? Shepparton ? Race 10 ? Box 8 ?385m ⏱ 10:10pm             ***Must Watch Race***
TAB fixed odds: $2.60 Place
Form
?  https://watchdog.grv.org.au/meeting/625462441/race/10

The Watchdog says ? : He runs into a couple of jetliners tonight, but he does possess an enormous amount of talent and he knows this track like the back of his paw. He returned to racing with a dominant 21.73sec win here and he exits a similar draw tonight. The inside and middle division appear evenly matched early pace wise, so if he can stay wide, he should avoid trouble and can run into some minor money at nice odds.
