The Watchdog has ‘chewed on a bone’ and gone against the two punters’ elects for the G2 Geelong Gold Cup.
Not selecting ‘country cups king’ Yozo Bale or four-time Group race finalist Weblec Jet could be a ‘bone of contention’.
But has the expert form analyst ‘thrown someone a bone’ by tipping Weblec Ace , a dual G1 finalist and older half-brother of Weblec Jet.
“He is capable of leading or coming from off the pace in his races and will ‘scrape the paint’,” The Watchdog said.
Also coming into his Cup calculations are “value runners” Carry On Angel, who recently finished third in the G3 Easter Gift and is unbeaten in two starts over this track/distance, and G1 Peter Mosman Opal finalist Junk Food Junkie.
“Both possess slick early speed and if the punters’ elects bump into each other early, they could cross and capitalise at nice odds.”
And The Watchdog also has a ‘sweet spot’ for first reserve and six-time Group race finalist Sweet As Emm who has come into the field.
“She loves this track and trip and has a tremendous record from this draw (Box 2).”
Meanwhile, The Watchdog also won last night’s tipping competition on SEN Track’s ‘The Lids Fly’.
He invested 62 units and returned 77.90 winning at 26%.
“That’s four profitable Thursdays in a row,” he said.
- 54 invested 61 returned 13% (April 15)
- 60 invested 117 returned 96% (April 8)
- 56 invested 107 returned 92% (April 1)
Some of The Watchdog’s ‘value bets’ last night were:
- 1 unit on Father Phevos – Sandown Park – Race 6
- 1 unit on Josephine – Warrnambool – Race 11
- 2 units place on Lil Snooze – Warrnambool – Race 7
