While the greyhound world is transfixed on Saturday night’s G1 Australian Cup night at The Meadows, the Wimmera will take centre stage on Friday afternoon with heats of the G2 CHS Group Horsham Cup (485m).
And with some top-class greyhounds bombing out in last week’s Australian Cup heats, it has meant that some of the biggest names in the game will partake in the first feature event of greyhound racing’s inaugural Western Festival of Racing.
With stars the ilk of Shima Shine, Jax Bale, Jim Zarr Dashian and Faithy Bale involved, the series is sure to draw plenty of interest.
The first of five heats is Race 4 on the card and will be run at 3.57pm, with the winners and three fastest 2nd placegetters to qualify for the $67,000 final on Saturday 6 March.
