GRV has updated its Transport and Hot Weather Policies, which come into effect from Thursday 1 October.
Key changes include:
- The interior of transport vehicles must now be kept below 30 degrees at all times when carrying greyhounds.
- Air conditioning must be running even while the vehicle is moving when the air temperature is 32 degrees or more.
- It is now a breach of GRV’s Hot Weather Policy to utilise penalty free scratchings on hot weather days for reasons other than poor welfare. Scratchings will be monitored for compliance with this policy.
