As a result of the most recent social distancing and gathering protocols announced by the Prime Minister, further regulations relating to attendances will be strictly enforced at all Victorian greyhound race meetings from Monday 23 March 2020.
Greyhound Clubs Victoria (GCV) and Greyhound Racing Victoria (GRV) have discussed the required changes at length and believe the changes are necessary to ensure the ongoing conduct of race meetings in the foreseeable future and to manage and identify compliance with the regulations.
The two (2) new attendance regulations being enforced from Monday 23 March 2020 are:
Trainers are advised that there will also be alterations and controls in place at the kennels to ensure that the allowed number of people in the area at one time is not exceeded. This will vary from track- to-track with notifications in place at each track.
Participants can be assured that there will be further attendance requirements in the near future that will be introduced as deemed necessary in order to protect the industry and its participants by continuing to race in the current crisis.
GCV and GRV sincerely thank participants for their ongoing understanding and cooperation. Some of these measures are not pleasant to have to introduce and enforce but are deemed necessary at this time.
