Young trainer Correy Grenfell, 26, will be hoping for back-to-back Group 2 Horsham Cup (485m) victories on Tuesday.
Grenfell will rug sprint sensation Tiggerlong Tonk (Box 3) in the $47,000-to-the-winner final, which will be run at 6.21pm.
A dual G1 finalist, Tiggerlong Tonk has notched 14 wins from 27 starts – including six of his past 10 – and is rated one of the hottest young prospects in the sport.
In last year’s Horsham Cup final, Grenfell’s group racing giant Orson Allen set a 26.87sec track record.
So, how does he rate Tiggerlong Tonk compared to his former superstar?
“Tiggerlong Tonk is slightly quicker over 450 metres, but he’s probably not as strong as Orson Allen was,” Grenfell said.
The G2 Horsham Cup, which originally was to be run last weekend before being abandoned, is Race 6 on Tuesday’s card and scheduled for 6.21pm.
