Red dogs star for Bushfire Appeal

Greyhound racing’s inaugural ‘Go The Red Dog’ campaign raised a total of $45,000 during the month of January, which will be welcome news to the many Victorians affected by the recent bushfires.

GRV has promised to donate $250 to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal every time a greyhound wearing the red number one rug won a race in Victoria throughout the month.

There were 180 ‘red dog’ winners in total across the state, including a dominant display by the classy Speed Star (pictured) at Geelong last night.

WATCH: The exciting Fuel ‘Em (Keith Hellmuth) was the 180th and final ‘red dog’ winner during the month of January.
