There is no substitute for class, so they say.
And, so says The Watchdog, who is tipping local speedster So They Say will claim a Restricted Win heat over 440 metres at Sale tonight.
A recent Group 3 Healesville Cup finalist, So They Say has been astutely placed by Sale-based trainer Christopher Tilley. Tonight’s assignment is a significant drop in class from the black type company he had to contend with at Healesville.
So They Say has only raced on 11 occasions but is establishing a solid reputation, having already registered five wins, two seconds and one third.
Blessed with natural early speed, So They Say is perfectly drawn in box one. He has notched two wins and two seconds in four starts from the ‘red’ alley. And he should obtain a clear passage in the initial stages of the race, with a vacant box on his immediate outside, due to the scratching of Mac’s Mayhem (box two).
Yes, his most recent starts have been on Healesville’s‘straight’ track, and he’s also making his Sale debut, but it should be noted that So They Say boasts a cracking 23.74sec best-of-day victory on a ‘circular’ track at Bendigo (425m).
Check out So They Say’s win, from box two, at Bendigo on July 19 this year:
