Expert form analyst The Watchdog is tipping Perfect Marshall will ‘lay down the law’ in a Mixed 4/5 over 600 metres at The Meadows tonight.
Trained at Pearcedale by Janet Cottrell, Perfect Marshall has earned a ‘badge of respect’ courtesy of his versatility. He’ll also be ‘shooting’ for his 11th win from only 20 starts.
Perfect Marshall, who has won five of his past 10 starts, has notched two victories over 595 metres at Sandown Park. He has also posted some smart sprint wins on metropolitan and country circuits.
But the only middle distance blemish was his sole 600-metre outing at The Meadows which resulted in him finishing seventh (from box seven) to Whitehart Magic (34.71sec), beaten almost six lengths. However, in his defence, he was crowded for room rounding the first turn and then checked at the halfway mark when making a forward move.
Drawn closer to the rails in box three (where he has two wins from four starts), The Watchdog is anticipating Perfect Marshall will be ‘taking no prisoners’ tonight.
Check out Perfect Marshall’s most recent middle distance success – a creditable 34.30sec performance, from box one, at Sandown Park (595m) on June 27:
