Stars from the Collingwood Football Club will make a special appearance at the Sale Greyhound Racing Club this Monday as part of their annual AFL community camp.
The Magpies, who lost last year’s Grand Final to West Coast by a heart-breaking five points, will be making their second consecutive trip to a Gippsland greyhound racing club after descending on Traralgon during the same camp last year.
Sale locals will have the chance to mingle with Collingwood stars and support grassroots football in Gippsland at the cocktail event.
A ticket includes gourmet finger food and one welcome drink, while all other drinks will be available at bar prices.
Peter Johnston from Sale Greyhound Racing Club said the visit had already generated a buzz around the local community.
“It’s not every day you get the biggest AFL club in the country in town. The people of Sale love their footy and I’m sure will have a fantastic night rubbing shoulders with last year’s Grand Finalists,” Mr Johnston said.
“There’s a lot of enjoyment to be had at a greyhound racing club other than just greyhound racing. We’ve got a great venue and it really is a social hub for the whole community. We’d encourage as many people as possible to come along.
