More than 50 organisations that care for the intellectually and physically disabled are in the running to land $10,000 cash, while seven others will share in $14,000 at this Wednesday’s TAB Great Chase Grand Final.
In a wonderful annual community initiative, The Meadows will open its doors to Victoria’s disability sector, with eight of the groups in attendance randomly drawn on the day and allocated a greyhound in the TAB Great Chase Grand Final.
The organisation matched to the Grand Final winner will snare the $10,000 while the other seven groups will collect $2,000 each.
Clients and carers of the groups enjoy a free lunch and merchandise with carnival-style entertainment incorporated into a fun afternoon of racing.
The highly promising Vancouver Star is the greyhound to beat in the grand final, having won his past four starts including a couple of exceptionally quick wins at The Meadows.
GRV regulates the sport of greyhound racing in the state of Victoria under the Racing Act 1958 (Act), which includes setting standards and ensuring they are met by participants.
