Stetson Donna proved trainer Peter Dundon right in winning the $50,000 Group 2 Laurels Classic at Sandown Park last night. The Finley trainer said before the race that his charge would begin well and finish well and he was proved right as she took out the all female classic and made it six wins in a row. Stetson Donna won in a cracking time of 29.54 in front of Amy Cole’s Take Me Home and Scott Holmes’s Witch’s Potion with short priced favourite Irma Bale fourth. Stetson Donna is bred by Donna Sadler and is Peter’s first greyhound to win at group level after only having his trainer’s license since April 2011. Peter had a strong affliation with legendary trainer, Len Poore, and mentioned during the week that he learnt a wealth of information from him. A feature article about Peter and how he has got to where he is will appear in next week’s (12/01/2012) GRV eNewsletter.
