Palawa King scratched from Fireball

Palawa King has been withdrawn from the Fireball final at The Meadows tonight.

It comes after trainer Jack Smith identified an injury following routine galloping at home during the week.

Smith joined Matt Nevett this morning on RSN’s Saturday Raceday to elaborate on the situation.

The scratching makes way for first reserve Harvey Intention who will jump from box 4.

It throws the market wide open with just two runners at double figure odds. Ella’s Babe, who carries similar racing traits to Palawa King, is the current favourite with Sportsbet.
