Bendigo and The Meadows are set to swap their Wednesday timeslots during November with a view to possibly making the switch a permanent one.
The Meadows, which currently races in the ‘Day’ timeslot, will move to ‘Twilight’, while Bendigo will move from its regular ‘Twilight’ spot to ‘Day’.
GRV’s Racing Manager, Scott Robins said the trial will be closely monitored across the four Wednesdays in November.
“We are always trying new initiatives to ensure that GRV is maximizing racing opportunities.”
“The trial will be closely monitored looking primarily at nomination numbers as well as the impact on wagering.”
“We believe that a Twilight meeting at The Meadows will make it easier for participants who live on the other side of Melbourne to travel to and from the Broadmeadows track.”
Robins expressed that The Meadows meeting will be a Provincial Meeting and that the Bendigo Meeting will remain a Tier 3 meeting.
GRV regulates the sport of greyhound racing in the state of Victoria under the Racing Act 1958 (Act), which includes setting standards and ensuring they are met by participants.
