Vics set to ‘wow’ SA

‘Superwoman’ Wow She’s Fast spearheads a classy compendium of Victorian speedsters SA-bound for the Group 1 Adelaide Cup series at Angle Park.

Wow She’s Fast is a prohibitive $1.60 pre-post favourite for the $100,000 to-the-winner final on Friday, October 7.

However, she won’t be contesting the heats (530m) this Thursday night after gaining automatic entry into the final courtesy of her track record-breaking SA vs All Stars Match Race Challenge win last week at Angle Park.

Prepared by ‘Team Greenough’, Wow She’s Fast clocked a scintillating 29.86sec, which sliced 0.09sec (1.5L) off the previous mark (29.95sec) set by Aston Rupee – ironically in last year’s Match Race Challenge.

Australia’s fifth-highest stakes earning greyhound ($1,175,870) has won 15 races – including her past six – from 20 starts – with the highlights being the G1 Maturity Classic, G1 Sapphire Crown and inaugural $750,000 Phoenix purse, along with the G3 Launching Pad and G3 Bill Collins Speed Star.

Meanwhile, the six Adelaide Cup heats include the following 14-strong Victorian contingent:

Heat 1 (Race 3, 7.49pm) – Stout Monelli (Box 3 – $2.60F) and Zara’s Ivan (Box 4 – $2.70)

Heat 2 – (Race 4, 8.10pm) – Mobile Legend (Box 1 – $2.40EF), Aston Ulysses (Box 2 – $3.90) and Fernando Mick (Box 8 – $2.40EF)

Heat 3 – (Race 5, 8.34pm) – Alpine Butterfly (Box 5 – $6.50) and Paddy Wants Pats (Box 7 – $1.40F)

Heat 4 – (Race 6, 8.55pm) – Photo Man (Box 2 – $1.45F) and Who Told Shorty (Box 4 – $5)

Heat 5 – (Race 7, 9.19pm) – Zippy Tesla (Box 2 – $1.80F), Hill Top Jack (Box 5 – $4.60) and Here Comes Pie (Box 7 – $11)

Heat 6 – (Race 8, 9.40pm) – Dusty Bourbski (Box 1 – $1.33F) and Call Me Buster (Box 5 – $10)

The ‘Big V’ dominates the ‘All In’ market with Dusty Bourbski, Paddy Wants Pats and Photo Man all at $6, Zippy Tesla ($8) and Fernando Mick ($15) behind Wow She’s Fast.

WATCH: WOW SHE’S FAST (B7) sets the Angle Park track alight with a sizzling 29.86sec track record exhibition in the Match Race Challenge.
