Jim’s ‘dash’ is ‘zarr’ record!

It is hard ‘keeping up’ with Jim Zarr Dashian – particularly when he’s on record-breaking pace!

Once dubbed the “next big thing”, Jim Zarr Dashian turned that into reality with a scintillating display at Bendigo yesterday.

Trained by Jamie Ennis, Jim Zarr Dashian claimed the Bendigo 425-metre track record, clocking 23.371sec and winning by almost 10 lengths.

He lowered Group 1 Melbourne Cup finalist Flynn’s previous mark of 23.373sec (set in February last year) by a ‘whisker’.

Catapulting from box four, Jim Zarr Dashian ($2.50F) defeated Kraken Tex ($22.80), followed closely by Mastermind Kid ($3.50).

The Dec ’17 Kinloch Brae x Kim Zarr Dashian dog notched his eighth win from 14 starts, which is a 57% strike rate.

Bred and owned by Colin Miller at Mullion Creek, NSW, Jim Zarr Dashian burst on to the racing scene in December last year.

He won four of his first six starts, including a stunning 29.02sec performance at Sandown – the ninth fastest time ever on that circuit.

But although his form has remained extremely solid, Jim Zarr Dashian had not quite reached the dizzy heights that were predicted for him – until now!

An astute young trainer, Ennis has been extremely patient with his star and it is reaping rewards.

Jim Zarr Dashian has now won his past three starts, including two identical 25.00sec victories at Ballarat over 450 metres.

Now doubt, in current form, we will be ‘keeping up’ with his career as it continues.

WATCH: Jim Zarr Dashian (4) was simply dominant in posting a track record 23.371sec.
