NSW has captured the TAB Million Dollar Chase (520m) for the second year running with Good Odds Harada ($5.00) snaring the $1million first prize at Wentworth Park tonight.
Trained by Frank Hurst and owned by his wife Tracey Hurst, Good Odds Harada led all the way to defeat Shima Shine and Get It Gizmo in a superb 29.34sec.
Shima Shine, bred and owned in Victoria by the Davrob Syndicate and trained at Anakie by Andrea Dailly, collected $100,000 for running 2nd.
Get Gizmo earned $45,000 for his third placed run. He was bred and is owned in Victoria by Harry Manolitsis and the Gizzy’s Gang Syndicate respectively, while he has been trained in NSW by Jason Mackay throughout the MDC series.
“I’ve always been a millionaire,” Frank Hurst said after the win. “Not money-wise but a millionaire through health and family. I’ve had a good life and I love it.”
It was a huge night for Andrea Dailly, with her gun stayer Boom Down ($6.50) producing one of the runs of the year to take out the Group 3 Sydney Cup (720m).
Good Odds Harada was one of three winners for the Collision x Solar Pak litter to win on the night, including the ever popular Feral Franky, who won the last race on the card as the odds on favourite drawing huge roars from the crowd.
