The group from Caladenia Friday Fellas were particularly excited, going to the extent of dressing in their finest ties and sparkly hats. The group, which provides care and support for people living with dementia and their carers, has been attending the Great Chase for the past three years and looks forward to it every year.

One of the highlights of the Great Chase is the GAP volunteers and their amazing greyhounds. At Healesville, volunteer Tracey Wannet has a special interest in the Great Chase as her daughter Sam is a member of Scope Lilydale.

“The Great Chase Is a great day, everyone loves having a day out watching the dogs race and being at the track and I particularly like it as I my daughter Sam is also here”.

Scope Lilydale were also the lucky winners on the day, taking home the first prize of $1000.

Chris from Scope said “We are absolutely ecstatic with the result.  We’ve already spoken about how we might spend the money and we’re aiming to purchase some Halloween and Christmas decorations as well as putting it towards a fundraising event later in the year.”

The next Great Chase day will be held at The Meadows, which will also host the final on 23 October.
