Hundreds of kids and their families have joined in the fun at our Greyhound Holiday Fun Days.
GRV and 12 greyhound racing tracks around Victoria are working together to put on free activities, competitions and giveaways that the whole family can enjoy.
Sandown Park, The Meadows, Bendigo and Ballarat have hosted the family days so far, and today it’s Horsham’s turn to join in the fun.
This year’s theme, The Greyhound Games, puts the focus on physical activity, combined with creative activities to ensure that children of all ages and abilities to participate in the program. The theme has been chosen to tie in with the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games which are being held on the Gold Coast over the same two-week period.
Sporting activities include miniature hurdles, tug-of-war, bowling, running races and handball. There are also plenty of non-sporting activities, including Turbo the Greyhound colouring books, kids’ karaoke and paintable plaster moulds. GRV’s mascot Turbo the Greyhound is also on-hand.
Easter egg hunts were very popular with kids over the Easter weekend.
Entry is free, and kids receive a meal, a drink and giveaways. The fun isn’t over yet. Check with your local club to see if you have a Holiday Fun Day coming up in your area.
