Victorian trainer David Geall is hoping a restful week will have his superstar greyhound Up Hill Jill cherry ripe for Saturday night’s Group 3 Ladies Bracelet (520m) final at Wentworth Park.
Up Hill Jill was gallant in defeat last weekend when running 2nd in her heat after uncharacteristically missing the start ever so slightly before encountering plenty of interference in the run.
“I suspect she may have been a little bit jaded last week after travelling twice to the West for the heats and final of the Perth Cup, and then driving to Sydney last week,” Geall said of his dual Group 1 winner.
“It has been a big month of travelling so she hasn’t done any galloping this week. Hopefully she will be nice and fresh and ready to go on Saturday night.”
