Fanta back to full health

Six-time Group 1 winner Fanta Bale is back to full health following her scratching from Saturday night’s Group 3 Chairman’s Cup (720m) at Wentworth Park.

The Robert Britton-trained superstar has won $901,000 in prize money, and is on track to become just the fourth Australian greyhound to win $1 million on the racetrack.

“On the Tuesday before the final she came down with a case of gastro and was quite sick for four days,” Britton said. “She is a lot brighter now and looks to be back to normal. We will look at trialling her early next week. Depending how she pulls up from that, we will look to racing her either at The Meadows next Saturday night (September 23) or find a race for her the following week.”

The $25,000 to-the-winner Chairman’s Cup was taken out by fellow Victorian stayer Billy’s Bake.
