Aussie super stayer Sweet It Is has made a huge impression first up in New Zealand by overcoming early interference to run a lightning quick 46.07sec over 779m at Auckland at her first visit at the track.
Contesting a heat of the NZ$80,000 to the winner Silver Collar yesterday, the Braden Finn-trained greyhound ran within two lengths of Thrilling Brat’s 45.96sec track record.
The Group 1 Silver Collar Final will be run on Sunday. With $830,495 already in the bank, Sweet It Is is the highest prize money earner in Australia’s history.
